A Quick Update

Just to let you know that I'm still here. My lack of blogging is primarily due to the cleaning mania with which I have been gripped for the past few weeks. Funny thing is, though, that despite all my dusting and vaccuming and wiping, the place still looks grotty. I have a suspicion that three small boys might have something to do with that. Lol! Also, our computer is well and truly jiggered, and given our complete lack of funds, I am having to do with Phil's work laptop whenever he can spare it. We are hoping to acquire a second hand FREE laptop reasonably soon so I'll be able to upload photos then, as I can't upload anything onto Phil's.

I am getting rather fed up of waiting for baby and also having all sorts of doubts about how we will manage emotionally and financially. Sadly, our finances have taken an even darker turn and it's difficult to know how having an extra person to clothe and feed will affect things. I pray and believe that God will provide, that's all I can do. And then there's the doubts about our parenting ability; can we do this? I know that when LO arrives all these doubts will fade into nothing but right now they seem very real. I think it's just the waiting getting to me. I keep having the odd very stron bh, and even the odd bout of regular contractions, but then nothing. Well baby can't stay in there forever, can he? Or she? Is anyone taking bets? My money's on another boy but I could be wrong. Hope we find out soon.

Thinking of you Jo, hope baby doesn't keep you waiting too long and you have a fabulous birth, you're a wonderful mother and God gives us all we need to be able to parent the children He's given us well! xx

lol I've been checking here twice a day!!

Sending you (((hugs))). I never thoguht we'd ever cope with another baby, having one is like crossing a huge abyss, before you have him/her no matter how many you already have you can't possibly imagine it, after you have him/her you can't remember what it was like without them!

Babies don't get that expensive for a while if you use cloth nappies and breastfeed, and you'll get double child tax credits for a year. Or since I don't know you very well, if like a couple of people I know you don't claim, God will provide anyway.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I know everything will be alright really. Unfortunately Phil earns too much for us to be entitled to any benefits, and due to unforseen circumstances we are now a considerable amount of money per month down. We have a budget, which is realistic but meagre. No holidays. Boo. No bigger car. Boo. But then I got the Christian Aid magazine and it made me feel so grateful for the things that we do have. Clean water. A warm and secure home. Good food. We are blessed and are much better off than most of the world's population. I think the hardest part is being involved in a fairly middle class church. People just don't have a clue. It's funny because I've advocated a frugal lifestyle to others for so long and now it's no longer a choice but a necessity. I guess God takes us at our word. LOL.
Thank you. I'll keep you posted.

Just to let you know I'm thinking of you all and the iminent arrival. On the benefits front, event people who earn well over the threshold get a decent amount of tax credits when baby is under one - I think it was around £40 a month for us - so worth claiming. Hugs Clair xxx
